Logistics Manager - FMCG Manufacturing

  • Location: Cranbrook, Kent.
  • Salary: £50,000 p.a.

A brilliant opportunity has arisen for an experienced Logistics Manager to join a fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing business. If you thrive in a hands‑on environment, enjoy leading from the front, and take pride in delivering exceptional operational standards, this role offers the scope and responsibility to make a real impact.

You'll take full ownership of the daily logistics operation, ensuring the smooth running of Logistics, Planning, Workshop activities and Compliance standards. Your leadership will help shape best practice, strengthen processes, and drive continuous improvement across the department.

This is a dynamic, people‑focused role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with teams across the business, maintain high service levels, and ensure operational excellence at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily oversight of Logistics, Planners and Workshop teams, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Full responsibility for the daily management of the Logistics function.
  • Uphold and develop compliance standards across Logistics and Workshop areas.
  • Deliver consistently high levels of service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to best‑practice processes and continuous improvement across the operation.
  • Provide holiday and sickness cover for Route Planners, including some weekend work.
  • Act as deputy for the Operations Manager when required.
  • Arrange and lead Drivers' Meetings four times a year (or as needed), including early‑morning starts.
  • Maintain hands‑on involvement, including out‑of‑hours contact when necessary.

We're looking for someone who brings both expertise and energy to the role. You'll be confident managing people, processes and performance in a busy operational environment.

Essentials:

  • Current CPC Manager accreditation.
  • Strong logistics management experience within a fast‑moving environment.
  • Ability to lead teams across Logistics and Workshop operations.
  • Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional weekends and early starts.

Desirables:

  • Knowledge of BRC standards and/or audit training.
  • Previous experience in an Operations role.
  • Any form of trainer‑training background.

This is a fantastic chance to step into a Logistics Manager role where your ideas and leadership will help shape the future of the logistics function. You'll be part of a supportive team with a strong team spirit in a business that values initiative, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

The position will be varied and stimulating, with enough challenges to keep the role interesting! If you're ready for a role where you can lead, innovate and make a meaningful difference, we'd love to hear from you.
